Kaolin | Metakaolin | Clay minerals Construction Aggregate

1000+
Kaolin is a type of clay minerals that can be almost found in many places which include Malaysia itself. In construction, kaolin is used to produce Metakaolin which is an important cement admixture to increase the strength of concrete. Its add on is similar to the addition of pozzolans, reduce the amount of cement used, lesser cement more environmentally friendly, stronger durability and compressive strength in the end product. The kaolin is white in color and other colour of kaolin only suggest impurities in it. The only drawbacks of metakaolin are the correct adjustment of using the correct ratio in the cement because too much or too less of metakaolin would reduce the overall performance of concrete. The correct ratio is usually suggested or recommended by the cement specialist or the cement manufacturer. Kaolin also contains many other usages such as the medical field to treat diarrhea, stop bleeding. diagnose disease, tablet preparation, food additives, etc. The usage of kaolin can only be used by the relative field expertise and should not be consumed or used by your own because overuse or underused will cause more harm than good.
In construction, Kaolin is mostly used in the application of producing cement admixture such as metakaolin. It can also be used by various other sectors such as food additives, medicine production, cosmetics, and skincare products.
